Welcome to winter, or as I like to call it sweater weather! This time of year brings an excess amount of jackets and other warm winter clothing into our lost and found, please make sure to continue to put your kiddo’s name on all clothing so that we can identify. Somehow I found just one pink sock in lost and found last week, crazy!

It is concert season again! Our Kindergarten – 4th grade students are excited to present to you a fun, dramatic program called “Bring On The Snow”. Join us this Thursday, December 7th at 5:30pm. Students and families should dress warm as we will be doing a concert in the “park” out on the field, so bring blankets and lots of snuggles. Please drop off your children in the gym at 5:00 pm.  Attire should be warm and in festive colors!

The 5th grade classrooms, Roadrunner Honor choir, and San Tan’s Secondary choir class, will have their concert on Tuesday, December 12th.  The concert will begin at 7pm, arrival time for each ensemble is found below. It is imperative that each ensemble arrive on time because there is a huge group number that involves every ensemble.

Secondary Choir Class – 5:30pm

5th Grade Classes – 6:00pm

Roadrunner Honor Choir – 6:30pm

The students have been working extremely hard on their music, and we are looking forward to performing for you, and the San Tan Charter School community. Please click on the Secondary School Music Website for more information, including 5th grade music as they will be involved with the Secondary School concerts this year rather than the elementary concerts. We look forward to seeing you at the concert.

Finally, please check out your kiddos art masterpiece items in the art walk taking place at each concert. There will be hot chocolate and a bake sale going on as well! We are so proud of these kids and all their hard work. Mark your calendars so you won’t miss out!

The second quarter will conclude the week of December 18th with the 20th & 21st being Parent Teacher Conferences; these days will be ½ days of school for conferences for our Elementary and Secondary Students only, dismissal times are outlined below. There will be no school December 22nd for Parent Teacher Conferences. Finally, there is no afterschool care provided on these days for all grades Preschool – 12th. Emails should have gone out or are coming soon from your teachers to schedule a conference.

The tax credit program is the perfect way to give and support San Tan Charter School’s goal of $82,000.00. The program is a win/win for everyone. By redirecting your tax dollars, you will support special programs at San Tan Charter School such as Music Education, which each student participates in and Physical Education, in which students participate in daily. It also provides weekly Library time for our students. The best part, is whatever you contribute, you will receive dollar for dollar back on your state taxes. So, if you give $100, you can deduct that $100 off what you owe in taxes. If you are a married couple, you may only contribute up to $400. If you are single, the total amount that you can contribute is $200. A one-time contribution is also wonderful.

This year San Tan Montessori School’s annual Tax Credit Donation Goal is $10,000.00. It is extremely important that we meet this goal to be able to continue to provide your kiddos with programs such as Music Education, Physical Education, and weekly Library time for our students. The best part is whatever you contribute, you will receive dollar for dollar back on your state taxes. So, if you give $100, you can deduct that $100 off what you owe in taxes. In addition, if you are interested in giving more, please consider the private school tax credit.
