Happy 5th Day of School!

Thank you for working with us as we fine-tune drop off in the morning. Please remember to always pull forward and work to quickly have your kiddo exit the car. At this point 8:25ish seems to be our most active time in the morning so to help with this we will be opening the gates early at 8:15 if you would like to come before the morning rush.

With the weather increasing this week, I wanted to send out a reminder of San Tan’s Heat Index Policy. Here are the levels. . .

Over 102 but Under 105 degrees Heat Index

Mandatory water breaks every 20 minutes for 5 to 10 minutes in duration.

Watch/monitor students carefully for necessary action.

Reduce time of outside activity.

Above 105 degrees Heat Index

Stop all outside activity in PE, Sports, and/or play, and hold indoor classroom dismissal. If this happens you will receive an email and text from the school with further direction.

This week your child will begin taking (Measures of Academic Progress test known as MAP). The students will attend two testing session to take the math and reading test. They will be allowed unlimited time for these assessments. Our school testing window will be from August 7th to August 18th. We give students MAP tests to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of math and reading. Your child will take the tests on a computer. MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. With MAP tests, we can administer shorter tests and use less class time while still receiving detailed, accurate information about your child’s growth. Each school year, students take the tests in August, December, and May. Following each testing period, you will receive a report showing your child’s growth. For more information on resources for parents, download the Parent Toolkit at

It’s time for Fall Clubs! Please look to our Fall Clubs Catalog for all the fun offerings we have for our families this season. Registration will occur at a Fall Clubs Fair on Monday, August 14th 5:30pm – 7:00pm in the gym. Most the clubs will be present to demonstrate and show you what exciting opportunities await you. Please note that registration is on a first come first serve basis. If you are unable to make this event, registration can be taken in the front office starting Tuesday morning (August 15th).

Attached you will see a Primary Home Language Other Than English (PHLOTE) form provided by the State of Arizona. The questions are in compliance with Arizona Administrative Code, R7-2-306(B)(1), (2)(a-c).
