Hello! My name is Ashley Gifford and I am an Arizona native, born and raised, right here in Mesa and Gilbert. I attended Mountain View High School and went on to ASU, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After the birth of my daughter my passion for little minds and child development overtook me. I went on to obtain Highly Qualified Status in Early Childhood Education, as well as Assistant Montessori Teacher certification through AMI. I have been teaching for the past 6 years to primary and elementary students, and secondary-schoolers…I know, what a range of ages!

Helping kiddos release their innate creative potential is truly my passion. I have been able to do just that in so many ways at STCS. When I first came on board with San Tan, I had the privilege of teaching science and math to middle school students and it was so much fun. The following year, I was given the opportunity to create and implement our middle school STEM program, while teaching half-day kindergarten; yes, the two ends of the spectrum that I embody collided and I loved every minute of it! After that, I had the privilege of exposing our elementary students to STEM and we had a blast; I was especially thrilled to host our first STEMfest which has now become an incredible annual tradition for our entire school community. Last year, I came full circle, back to my roots, teaching 8th Grade Science, Physics, Chemistry, as well as STEM and Engineering and I was amazed with all the kiddos accomplished. Guiding our secondary schoolers to develop their natural talents too…that was the most incredible icing on the cake (icing that brought about another new tradition for our school with the Natural Talent Showcase). I love it here at San Tan and I am excited to work with our secondary school students again this year, continuing to guide them through creative design and the fundamentals of physics that govern the world around us. We’re even rolling our new forensics and robotics programs. It’s sure to be an awesome year!
