Tackle Football Head Coach John Lokey

Coach John Lokey has been teaching and coaching football for the last twenty years. He is a graduate of Penn State University and began coaching at several schools in Pennsylvania before becoming the Varsity Offensive Coordinator at Dieruff High School in Allentown in 2000. After moving to Arizona in 2004, he began teaching and coaching at Shadow Mountain High School, serving as the Offensive Coordinator and later the Head Junior Varsity Coach. Coach Lokey became part of Jim Jones’ staff at Red Mountain High School in 2008. He has served in several capacities including Head Junior Coach and most recently, Head Junior Varsity Coach. During the school day Coach Lokey works as a special education teacher and appreciates being able to impact young lives through teaching and athletics.

Coach Lokey has been married to his lovely wife Farah, who is a practicing pediatrician in Gilbert, for the past eight years. They have one daughter, Rania age 5. Coach Lokey is very grateful for the opportunity to continue to lead the Roadrunner Football program at San Tan Charter School.

 

Tackle Football Assistant Coach Jay GonzalesGONZALES_JAY

Coach Jay Gonzales has been coaching for over 15 years. This will be his third year coaching at San Tan Charter School. Coach Jay’s passion for the game of football started at Marcos De Niza High School. In addition to football, he played both baseball and basketball; playing at some of the highest levels in basketball. Coach Jay is excited to continue being part of the San Tan Roadrunner family where he has seen much coaching success helping lead the Junior High Flag team to a State Champion Runner Up and the Varsity Boys Basketball team the school first every State Championship!

 

Tackle Football Assistant Coach Steven WalkerWALKER_STEVEN

Coach Steven Walker will be joining the Roadrunner coaching staff for the 2017 season. Coach Walker has had much success on the field as a running back and linebacker for the 2000 & 2001 Red Mountain High School State Championship football teams, earning All-American & All-State honors his senior year. After graduating from Red Mountain, Coach Walker earned a scholarship and played at the University of North Dakota. Coach Walker comes to San Tan from Red Mountain where he was the Freshman Assistant Coach, leading the team to many undefeated seasons. Mr. Walker has a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University and teaches Junior High Math as San Tan Charter School.
